{"id":2313,"date":"2026-02-17T17:10:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T17:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/2313\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T17:10:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T17:10:06","slug":"alabama-woman-receives-apology-from-u-s-ambassador-to-belgium-on-behalf-of-trump-after-being-attacked-in-brussels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/2313\/","title":{"rendered":"Alabama woman receives apology from U.S. Ambassador to Belgium on behalf of Trump after being attacked in Brussels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A U.S. Ambassador called and apologized to an Alabama woman after she claimed that she was attacked by a knife-wielding man in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Ambassador to Belgium, Bill White, called Amanda Hardy Saturday and apologized on behalf of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday I received a phone call from the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium, Bill White,\u201d Hardy said on Facebook. \u201cHe listened, apologized on behalf of the Embassy and on behalf of the President, and he took immediate action to change policies at the Belgium Embassy so that no other American family is left in that position. We could not have asked for more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>Hardy was with another Alabama mother and their two 12-year old daughters when a man with a knife approached them on a train in Brussels, asked if they were American and if they liked ICE. She then took video of them being chased off the train by the individual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also spoke with Tommy Tuberville\u2019s office today \u2013 his staff is wonderful,\u201d Hardy continued on her Facebook post Saturday. \u201cDeanna has taken the time to listen and his office took actions to demand accountability so that our concerns were not dismissed or overlooked. For that I will always be grateful. We still have a lot of work to do \u2013 but today we saw progress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hardy recently told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsfa.com\/2026\/02\/13\/alabama-mother-speaks-out-after-being-chased-by-man-train-belgium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WSFA<\/a>\u00a0that she wants things to change for Americans visiting the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere needs to be a review and change of emergency protocol when children are involved,\u201d she said. \u201cWe cannot abandon children in a foreign country when someone attempts to kill them because they\u2019re American.
