Caliber.Az<\/a> reports, citing Armenian media.<\/p>\n\u201cThe initiative envisages support for preparatory work on the strategic road sections Akhurik\u2013Kayan and Margara\u2013Kayan, which will connect border crossing points (on the border with T\u00fcrkiye) to Armenia\u2019s road network,\u201d Khudatyan said.<\/p>\n
As part of the first phase of the initiative, the EIB will provide technical and advisory support to help determine the scope of the necessary studies and develop project solutions for the planned road corridors.<\/p>\n
The projects form part of the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace initiative, which seeks to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen Armenia\u2019s position as a reliable transportation and logistics hub.<\/p>\n
According to Khudatyan, the planned infrastructure upgrades are intended to facilitate regional transport links and contribute to broader economic integration efforts.<\/p>\n
The announcement comes a day after the Armenian minister held talks with Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uralo\u011flu, during which the two sides discussed road and railway connectivity between their countries.<\/p>\n
The border between T\u00fcrkiye and Armenia has remained closed since 1993, making the planned transport projects a potentially significant step toward improving regional infrastructure and connectivity.<\/p>\n
