The inaugural edition goes down in Antwerp on Saturday, August 29, with around 3,000 participants expected to take part.

The format is straightforward: runners follow a curated route through the city, cross the finish line, and move directly into a purpose-built arena designed by Tomorrowland. From there, a two-hour alcohol-free rave takes over, with Emilija b2b Alycia Bezgo and Dimitri Vegas on the lineup. Doors open at 9:00am, the run kicks off at 10:00, and the whole thing wraps by 13:00.

Tomorrowland has run similar experiences around its flagship festival previously — past editions have featured runs with John Summit, Steve Aoki, and Armin van Buuren. ZONE 5 brings the concept to Belgium for the first time, with Lucky Stride Running Club — one of Europe’s faster-growing running communities — handling the course curation.

The 5K isn’t a race in the traditional sense. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, with the emphasis on collective experience over competition. The finish area isn’t a finish area at all — it feeds straight into the rave arena, which is where the event really gets going.

Stijn De Rooster, Alderman for Sports for the City of Antwerp, had this to say about the event: “Sport is constantly evolving and reaching people in new ways. ZONE 5 shows that movement can be about much more than competition. It brings people together, promotes an active lifestyle and creates a unique atmosphere where sport, music and community reinforce one another.”

The name itself comes from endurance training — Zone 5 is the highest heart rate zone, the point where intensity and adrenaline peak. That threshold is the through-line for the whole experience, from the opening kilometre to the closing set.

Beyond the concept itself, Tomorrowland and Lucky Stride are positioning ZONE 5 as a format with room to grow. Antwerp is the starting point, but the plan is to expand to other European cities down the line.

Pre-registration is open now at zone5.world. An exclusive pre-sale goes live on July 14 at €39, with general sale following on July 16 at €45.

Tomorrowland is teaming up with Lucky Stride Running Club to launch ZONE 5, a new concept that pairs…

[6
19,7,15277,15278,15279,9914,3579,15280
post-27050","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-antwerp","tag-antwerp","tag-belgium","tag-dimitri-vegas","tag-lucky-stride-running-club","tag-review-slombardo","tag-running","tag-tomorrowland","tag-zone-5
["GET
