KNDS France has received<\/a> orders to build 269 armored vehicles for Belgium and Luxembourg under the Capacit\u00e9 Motoris\u00e9e (CaMo) program.<\/p>\n

The CaMo<\/a> is an ongoing vehicle initiative led by the French and Belgian governments to promote commonality and interoperability between their military forces.<\/p>\n

The effort also supports Paris\u2019 domestic SCORPION program<\/a>, aimed at modernizing ground platforms and other tactical equipment for the French Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

Griffons, Servals for Belgium<\/p>\n

Belgium\u2019s procured CaMo systems include 92 Griffon armored personnel carriers and 123 Serval lightweight multirole vehicles, with the contract placed by France\u2019s defense procurement agency on behalf of the Belgian Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n

Both models are being adopted under the SCORPION program, to which Brussels will also have full access under the latest agreement.<\/p>\n

KNDS noted that the sale will boost Brussels\u2019 capability to implement unified operations with NATO partners while supporting the nation\u2019s broader commitments to the alliance.<\/p>\n

Griffons, Jaguars to Luxembourg<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Luxembourg\u2019s order will be facilitated under Belgium\u2019s own CaMo framework, with support from the NATO Defence Planning Process<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It consists<\/a> of 16 Griffons and 38 Jaguar reconnaissance vehicles that will all be delivered to the upcoming Guide-Chasseurs Battalion<\/a>, a joint medium combat reconnaissance unit being formed by Luxembourg and Belgium that will be fully operational by 2030<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing in Both Countries<\/p>\n

According to KNDS, the Griffon and Jaguar vehicles will be built in collaboration with Arquus and Thales, while the Serval will be produced with Texelis.<\/p>\n

Most vehicles will be assembled at Belgian automotive company MOL CY\u2019s industrial site in Staden and fitted with remote weapon stations supplied by FN Herstal.<\/p>\n

The Serval vehicles will follow an expanded industrial model with a greater share of assembly work transferred to Belgium.<\/p>\n
