One of the two suicide bombers in the attacks that killed over 30 people at Brussels International Airport and a city metro station last month, has been identified as a former Daesh prison guard in Syria.<\/p>\n
French journalists held hostage in Syria by the terror group in 2013 identified Najim Laachraoui as the presumed bomb-maker for both attacks in Brussels that killed 32 and injured dozens, the Guardian reported.<\/p>\n
The new information was reported by sources close to the investigation into a series of suicide bombings that struck Brussels airport and the Belgian capital’s subway on March 22.<\/p>\n
French media networks reported the journalists, held hostage for 10 months, recognised Laachraoui as one of their captors, known to them as Abou Idriss, when his photograph was released in the aftermath of the coordinated attacks that hit Europe’s heart. \u201cI can confirm that he was the jailer of my client,” said Marie-Laure Ingouf, a lawyer for Nicolas Henin, one of the four journalists who were released in April 2014. The lawyer said that her client had \u201cformally identified” the bomber, according to the Guardian.<\/p>\n
