WARSAW (AP) \u2014 Poland\u2019s prime minister said Thursday authorities arrested a Russian citizen who was allegedly recruited by Russia\u2019s secret services, thwarting his plan to kill a Ukrainian American citizen in Warsaw.<\/p>\n
It was the first time that \u201csomeone on the order of Russia\u201d sought to attack an American citizen on the territory of another NATO country, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.<\/p>\n
The American-Ukrainian citizen \u201cwas uncomfortable for the Putin regime,\u201d Tusk said in a news conference.<\/p>\n
The Russian citizen was taken into custody by Polish authorities on Aug. 7, Polish officials said.<\/p>\n
The operation was carried out in cooperation with U.S. services, said Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland\u2019s minister coordinating secret services.
