Credit: Dragos Asaftei \/ Shutterstock.com.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">Food retailer Ahold Delhaize has confirmed that Delhaize Belgium has finalised its purchase of Delfood, extending its reach in Belgium\u2019s convenience retail segment.<\/p>\n<p>Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retail-insight-network.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/GMS-logo.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Discover B2B Marketing That Performs <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCombine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldatamarketingsolutions.com\/\" class=\"gms-find-out-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFind out more <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The acquisition includes 303 Belgian outlets, covering all louis delhaize stores and locations supplied through Delfood, along with associated logistics operations and Delfood\u2019s headquarters in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>Following completion, Delhaize\u2019s combined estate across Belgium and Luxembourg now totals 1,109 stores.<\/p>\n<p>The group added that the closing followed regulatory authorisation and the execution of the agreed divestments.<\/p>\n<p>Approval was granted by the Belgian Competition Authority, subject to commitments that required the sale of six Delfood neighbourhood outlets and one Delhaize Shop &amp; Go store.<\/p>\n<p>Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia CEO Claude Sarrailh said: \u201cThis acquisition represents an important step in deepening our presence in the Belgian convenience market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy bringing Delfood and the louis delhaize stores into the Ahold Delhaize family, we are expanding a network that is deeply rooted in local communities and backed by 150 years of heritage.
