On the eve of Ukraine\u2019s Independence Day, the blue-and-yellow flag was ceremonially raised outside the European Commission building in Brussels.<\/p>\n
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen shared a video of the ceremony on X. She stressed that the Ukrainian flag should fly at the heart of the European Union.<\/p>\n
As we prepare to celebrate Ukraine\u2019s Independence Day, we are raising the Ukrainian flag in Brussels. So that it may fly proudly at the very heart of our Union, where it belongs. Ukraine will regain its security. Its freedom. And take its rightful place in our Union.<\/p>\n
