A pair of underrated cities will soon be easily reachable by Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed train<\/a>, with even more hidden gems if you’re up for the full journey.<\/p>\n

Underrated City #1: Cologne, Germany \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea<\/p>\n

When I first heard of Cologne, it was featured on a\u00a0Parts Unknown\u00a0episode, essentially presented as Germany’s up-and-coming cool city, along with its quirky twin, D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n

While most still circle Berlin and Munich atop their wishlist, Cologne has certainly become one of Central Europe’s trendiest destinations.<\/p>\n

Belgium is one of those countries you feel you have a grasp on, given Brussels’ extensive connectivity and since it’s well publicized.<\/p>\n

But if you don’t stay in Brussels, you’ll often find fellow travelers and guidebooks referencing charming small towns like Ghent and Bruges, not the country’s second largest city,\u00a0Antwerp.<\/p>\n

The truth is Brussels, as gorgeous as its aesthetics may be, might have you waffling in your decision to visit given some unsightly on-the-ground reports.<\/p>\n
