March brings a full slate of art openings for enthusiasts across the globe, from New York to Hong Kong. Highlights include Carol Bove\u2019s sculptural works at the Guggenheim, Catherine Opie\u2019s three-decade survey at London\u2019s National Portrait Gallery, and the 82nd Whitney Biennial spotlighting contemporary voices from around the world.<\/p>\n

In Asia and Europe, notable shows include Lee Bul\u2019s retrospective at M+, the Palace Museum\u2019s \u201cHeavenly Horses\u201d in Hong Kong, Inez and Vinoodh\u2019s 40-year photography retrospective in The Hague, the Antwerp Six at MoMu, and The Met\u2019s ambitious \u201cRaphael: Sublime Poetry\u201d.<\/p>\n

The striking rotunda of New York\u2019s Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is the backdrop for an exhibition dedicated to American artist Carol Bove. The wide-ranging show features early drawings and more recent work, including her signature \u201ccollage sculptures\u201d made of scrap metal and steel tubes. From March 5 to August 2<\/p>\n

Almost 80 photos by American photographer Catherine Opie take centre stage at the National Portrait Gallery in London. \u201cCatherine Opie: To Be Seen\u201d spans three decades of her career, highlighting portraits of the queer community in Los Angeles, abstract landscapes and works inspired by art history. From March 5 to May 31<\/p>\n

The 82nd edition of the Whitney Biennial, the New York museum\u2019s key exhibition, showcases the work of 56 artists, duos and collectives hailing from the United States and countries such as Afghanistan, Chile, Iraq, Japan and Vietnam. Co-organised by two Whitney curators, Marcela Guerrero and Drew Sawyer, the Biennial is the longest-running survey of American art. Until August 23<\/p>\n
