{"id":5909,"date":"2026-03-12T12:13:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/5909\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T12:13:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:13:06","slug":"georgian-speaker-says-brussels-must-repair-damaged-eu-ties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/5909\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgian speaker says Brussels must repair damaged EU ties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>12 March 2026 15:32<\/p>\n<p>Georgia\u2019s parliamentary speaker has accused Brussels of damaging relations between Tbilisi and the European Union, saying it is now up to European officials to repair the ties.<\/p>\n<p>Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said the deterioration in relations was the responsibility of Brussels and outlined necessary steps to restore trust,<a href=\"https:\/\/caliber.az\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> Caliber.Az<\/a> reports, citing <a href=\"https:\/\/1tv.ge\/lang\/en\/news\/speaker-osce-pa-only-body-to-declare-that-violence-against-state-institutions-boycott-not-acceptable-eu-never-admitted-these-two-truths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Georgian media<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Papuashvili said European actors must abandon what he characterised as attempts to undermine Georgia\u2019s government, stop the alleged covert financing of non-governmental organisations and schemes aimed at circumventing Georgian law, and end what he called anti-Georgian rhetoric.
