Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a two-year fuel agreement with Equinor for the supply of mass-balanced bio-methanol, produced in Norway and delivered to its methanol vessels in Antwerp and Zeebrugge.<\/p>\n
The bio-methanol, certified under ISCC EU standards, is expected to reduce CO\u2082 emissions by 95%, marking a significant step toward decarbonizing the company\u2019s shipping operations. This partnership aims to support Wallenius Wilhelmsen\u2019s goal to launch a net-zero end-to-end pilot service for select customers by 2027.<\/p>\n

Equinor\u2019s supply of bio-methanol is based on a combination of methanol produced at Equinor\u2019s facility at\u00a0Tjeldbergodden, Norway, and biogas certificates stemming from captured biogas from manure and other biomass in accordance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive.<\/p>\n
