Brazil were crowned Women\u2019s Champions and Belgium Men\u2019s Champions at there third, and final, SVNS 2 tournament this season. The S\u00e3o Paulo SVNS 2 follows the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americasrugbynews.com\/2026\/02\/16\/argentina-wins-svns-2-nairobi-tournament\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nairobi SVNS 2 tournament in Kenya<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americasrugbynews.com\/2026\/03\/22\/double-svns-2-gold-for-americas-competitors-in-montevideo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Montevideo SVNS 2 tournament in Uruguay<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s Results \u2013 SVNS 2 S\u00e3o Paulo<br \/>\nWomen\u2019s Results \u2013 SVNS 2 S\u00e3o Paulo<\/p>\n<p>1 Belgium<br \/>\n1 Brazil<\/p>\n<p>2 Kenya<br \/>\n2 Kenya<\/p>\n<p>3 Uruguay<br \/>\n3 Spain<\/p>\n<p>4 USA<br \/>\n4 Argentina<\/p>\n<p>5 Canada<br \/>\n5 South Africa<\/p>\n<p>6 Germany<br \/>\n6 China<\/p>\n<p>When combined with the results from the Nairobi SVNS 2 and Montevideo SVNS 2 tournaments, the outcome is that Brazil (Women) and Uruguay (Men) claimed the last two remaining places on the line for the\u00a0SVNS World Championship Series, which begins with the Hong Kong 7\u2019s in April.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil needed a massive improvement in S\u00e3o Paulo to qualify. They succeeded by overtaking China and by beating Kenya in the final match. Everything was on the line in the Brazil vs Kenya SVNS 2 Women\u2019s Final; the prize for the winner was qualifying for the SVNS World Championship Series.<\/p>\n<p>Veteran Brazilian player, Thalia Costa was named Women\u2019s Player of the Tournament. She scored a double in the final as did teammate, Camila Carvalho.<\/p>\n<p>Glory for As Yaras in S\u00e3o Paulo sees Brazil joining Argentina, South Africa and Spain in qualifying for the three-tournament World Championship Series with legs to be played in Hong Kong, China, Valladolid, Spain, and Bordeaux, France.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina and Brazil give South America two participants in the women\u2019s competition. Spain and South Africa are the other two women\u2019s teams to have qualified visa SVNS 2. They join New Zealand, Australia, USA, France, Canada, Fiji, Japan and Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-119084 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/HEmqrB5WIAEXkph.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"1200\"  \/>Image: CBRu<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Uruguay successfully joined As Yaras in qualifying. Los Teros booked their spot with a nail-bitting win over Belgium in game one of the second day in S\u00e3o Paulo. Belgium thus missed out on a spot and settled for a bitter-sweet outcome as the western Europeans went on to be crowned Men\u2019s champions in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium\u2019s Ryan Godsmark, who is a Scotsman playing for Belgium, was named Men\u2019s Player of the Tournament. Ultimately, as mentioned, Uruguay\u2019s 24-19n win over Uruguay was the key men\u2019s result.<\/p>\n<p>Los Teros now join Germany, Kenya and the USA in qualifying from the SVNS 2 for the World Championship Series. Kenya booked their place on day one in S\u00e3o Paulo.
