\u201cToday, as part of a special stage of the exchange, we are bringing home 10 of our soldiers through Belarus. They are members of the Armed Forces and National Guard of Ukraine who defended the country in the Donetsk direction. All of them had been listed as missing in action. It is very important that we managed to bring them home,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy also thanked everyone who continues to work on bringing Ukrainians home. He stressed that Ukraine remembers \u201ceveryone who remains in captivity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are searching for every single person by name. And we will do everything to free them and bring them home,\u201d Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

Ukraine\u2019s Defense Intelligence said the exchange became possible following negotiations conducted by the working group on prisoner exchanges under the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the president\u2019s instructions, today, on Independence Day, we managed to bring another 10 Ukrainian citizens home from the Republic of Belarus. They are members of the Armed Forces and National Guard \u2014 sergeants, soldiers and sailors,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

All those released had defended Ukraine in the Donetsk direction. Two had been listed as missing since 2024, while eight had been missing since 2025.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

All 10 Ukrainian defenders will receive the necessary support and medical care and undergo rehabilitation.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

Recently, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that Russia had provided information on the whereabouts of 79 Ukrainian service members<\/a> who had been listed as missing.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

On August 19, 103 Ukrainians returned home from Russian captivity <\/a>in another prisoner exchange. Ukraine handed over 103 Russian prisoners of war in return.<\/p>\n
