From a rooftop in Stratford that’s been described as a ‘playground for adults’ to an ‘adult beach club’ in the middle of Croydon, London definitely has some incredible days out.

And there’s one in particular that locals cannot stop raving about.

Electric Summer is a sprawling, sun-soaked, fairground situated right next to the iconic Battersea Power Station.

With rides, attractions, street food, and an entire stand dedicated to chocolate covered strawberries, it’s no surprise that one TikTok creator recently described it as the ‘best summer hangout spot in the city’.

Explaining that she’d spent the entire summer hunting down the capital’s best days out, @primrosejess told her followers: ‘If I could only recommend one thing to do in London this August… It’d be this’.

What is there to do at Electric Summer?

Keeping Londoners entertained is no simple task. Thankfully, Electric Summer has the activities covered.

The main attraction is the Big Wheel, boasting gorgeous views of the Thames. Or, if you fancy a bit more of a thrill, the Wave Swinger has also proved a big hit.

If heights aren’t your thing, there’s still plenty to keep you busy.

Lean into the nostalgia with a go on the bumper cars, or why not test your balance at the roller rink, with themed sessions taking place almost every day?

After a recent trip to Electric Summer, TikToker @maryaam shared that ‘one visit was not enough’, adding ‘going around at sunset was such a vibe, it was so cute and the views were amazing’.

Another satisfied customer, @z.archives, posted that they were ‘obsessed’ with the fairground.

While entry is free, there are a few things to keep in mind.

At the end of the day, this is still London – everything comes with a price.

The Big Wheel costs £10 for adults (£8 for children) while roller skating tickets start at £15 for adults(£10 for kids).

Some of the more traditional rides and games reportedly start at around £4 each.

While the costs can quickly add up, the fact that there’s no hefty price tag attached to walking through the front door is definitely a bonus.

The attractions might be tempting, but you could very easily spend an afternoon or evening wandering around the site, taking in the views, maybe buying a beer or two, and leave without breaking the bank.

Of course any respectable day out in London also requires a good range of street food vendors. And, thankfully, Electric Summer got the memo.

Visitors have praised the loaded fries, crab rolls, and fish and chips.

While the sweet treats, including some especially delectable chocolate covered strawberries, were called ‘a must try’ by @London.discoveries.

Things to know before your visit

Electric Summer won’t be open for too much longer – officially closing its doors on August 31. So, make sure you plan your visit before it’s too late.

Doors open at 10am and shut at 10pm, meaning you’ll be able to catch some stunning sunset views.

If you’re coming from the Tube at Battersea Power Station, walk straight towards the riverfront and the iconic chimney structure.

You should see the Coaling Jetty in front of you and the entrance to the fairground.

There’s no need to book ahead of time, just walk straight in and enjoy yourself!
