Great Britain Women Set New National, European Championship Records With 3:53.50 4×100 Medley Relay

Great Britain’s 4×100 medley relay of Lauren Cox, Angharad Evans, Keanna MacInnes, and Freya Colbert swam to a new National Record as well as a Championship Record as the group touched in a 3:53.50 en route to gold on the final night in Paris.

That broke the previous National Record and Championship Record of a 3:54.01 that the relay of Kathleen Dawson, Molly Renshaw, Laura Kathleen Stephens, and Anna Hopkin swam in 2021 at the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Split Comparison

The biggest difference tonight was the breaststroke leg as Evans blasted a 1:03.75, almost two seconds faster than Renshaw’s 1:05.72 split from five years ago. MacInnes’s split of a 56.81 was over half a second faster than Stephens’s split as well.
