“Good Afternoon.I’m Superintendent, Karen Corrigan, and I’ll be reading a short statement in relation to an Avon and Somerset police murder investigation in Filton.
“In the early hours of this morning, we received a call after a man was found fatally injured at a property in Cleve Road in Filton.
“Despite the best efforts of attending emergency services, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“A murder investigation has been launched, as we work to understand the circumstances leading up to the man’s death.
“These inquiries are at an early stage, but we believe death occurred several hours earlier on Wednesday, the 8th of April.
“We are urgently appealing for any CCTV or dash cam footage from Cleve Road, the A38 Gloucester Road, North, and surrounding streets, as that may contain vital information to help us understand who is responsible for this horrific attack.
“We particularly want to hear from anyone who is in the area doing yesterday evening’s rush hour.
“We can confirm the man who died is in his 20s, and his family has been informed.Out of respect for them, their privacy and their grief, we would kindly honest people, do not speculate about the man’s identity at this time.
“We will work with the family to release more details about the victim in due course.
“Extra uniformed patrols will be carried out following this tragedy and those officers and PCSOs will be on hand to talk to anybody with concerns or worries.
