Diageo PLC (LSE:DGE) has appointed former Procter & Gamble Beauty chief executive R. Alexandra “Alex” Keith as a non-executive director, adding more than 35 years of international consumer goods experience to its board.
Keith is expected to join the board on 5 November 2026, subject to shareholder approval at Diageo’s Annual General Meeting.
Most recently, she served as chief executive of Procter & Gamble’s Beauty business, where she oversaw a major global portfolio and led growth initiatives spanning innovation, acquisitions, portfolio development and organisational transformation.
Keith brings extensive leadership experience across North America, Europe and Asia, with a background covering general management, consumer products, brand development, supply chain and enterprise leadership.
Her experience includes building global brands, scaling complex businesses and developing portfolios in response to changing consumer trends.
Since 2020, Keith has also served as a non-executive director of US-listed life sciences company Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc (NYSE:TMO, XETRA:TN8).
Subject to shareholder approval, she will become a member of Diageo’s Remuneration and Nomination Committees from the date she joins the board.
Diageo chair Sir John Manzoni said Keith’s recent chief executive experience in consumer goods, including leading and transforming branded businesses, would add relevant expertise to the board.
He highlighted her experience in shaping portfolios around consumer trends, including in the US, as Diageo continues efforts to strengthen its board and improve the competitiveness of the business.
Manzoni said the appointment formed part of Diageo’s continuing process of building out the board’s expertise to support the company’s transformation.
