A boy was arrested for possession of a knife after violence erupted at the Trafford Centre.
Police officers were called to a ‘disturbance’ at the shopping centre on Monday evening (August 17). According to an eyewitness, a fight broke out in one of the car parks.
A male was hurt amid the incident, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said, but left the scene. He ‘remains unknown’.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Enquiries into the incident are now underway.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at the Trafford Centre last night (17/08/2026) and arrested a boy, aged 16, on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
“The male suspected to have received an injury had left the scene and at this time remains unknown. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Trafford Centre said: “We are aware of an incident that took place last night (Monday 17th August) within an outside area at Trafford Centre. We are assisting Greater Manchester Police with their ongoing enquiries.”
