Part of the former HSBC bank building in Pudsey town centre could be transformed into three holiday flats, if the latest plans for the site are approved.
Applicant Mohammed Abbas of REF79 Holdings, want to change the rear part of the ground floor into three self-contained short-term holiday let studio apartments.
The fresh proposals come a fortnight after the Harseen Abdul Karim, of real estate company Golden Oak Estate, submitted plans to the council to turn the front part of the ground floor into two shops.
A planning statement submitted with he application says the development would be “a high-quality conversion that brings a vacant unit back into active use, provides much-needed short-term accommodation in a sustainable location, and respects the character of the existing building and surrounding area.”
There would be two parking spaces created towards the rear of the property.
The upper floors of the Church Lane building already contain residential flats.
In June WLD reported how the planned conversion of the building’s downstairs into five flats were blocked by the city council.
The ground floor has been empty since HSBC closed its doors in October 2020.
