Choi Dae-gyu-bae’s Amateur Golf Championship, which marks its 30th anniversary this year, is considered an “amateur major competition.” In particular, Seowon Valley CC, which hosts men’s and women’s professional golf tournaments, is a “dream field” where players want to play the most.
Seowon Valley CC has made this tournament’s course a professional golf tournament. The men’s team set a total of 7,114 yards and the women’s team set a total of 6,534 yards. In addition, the fairway lawn was cut 1mm shorter than the passing sea at 16mm and made like a carpet. On the other hand, rough A is made of 30mm and rough 42mm. Once you fall into rough A, you can lose 0.5 strokes and about 1 stroke in rough. The green speed will be maintained at a maximum of 3.2 meters in time for the amateur competition.
A day before the event, the practice round took place on Monday. Numerous players were flocking to the practice green, adapting themselves to the fast green. The speed of the course and practice green were the same as 3.1 meters. The players said in unison, “It’s the fastest and best green among the courses where the amateur tournament has been held.” The father of a player who dreams of becoming a professional golfer said, “It’s like I’m at a professional competition. My child is participating in the competition for the first time, and he liked it because of many device ornaments, tournament banners, and special sculptures around the practice green, saying, “I feel like a professional golfer.”
This is not the only one. A large driving range of 300 meters long and 90 at-bats was also made available to athletes. Like professional golfers, they warmed up in the driving range and made it possible to compete with their senses.
