A man has been seriously injured after an incident involving “bladed articles” in Truro this afternoon.
Police have said two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The disorder saw armed police being called and has left three people injured in total, police have said.
A cordon is currently in place just off Calenick Street, near the Central Grill.
In a statement at 4pm, Devon and Cornwall Police said: “One man suffered a potentially serious injury. Two other men sustained minor injuries.
“Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in police custody at this time.
“Those involved are believed to be known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public.”
Multiple witnesses have told CornwallLive there is a large emergency service presence in the city.
One person said: “[Just off Victoria Square is] all cordoned off around Burger King, around 30 coppers, 12 police cars”.
Another person said: “Something mega is going down in Truro”.
Someone else told CornwallLive: “Truro massive police presence and armed responses. Ambulance and everything”.
