A Wakefield man has made it through to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent after performing a song about scotch eggs.

ITV‘s Britain’s Got Talent made its return this evening, with a group of acts attempting to make it through to the final and secure the £250,000 prize. The four panellists Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI were all left astounded when one man took to the stage.

Christy Coysh, from Wakefield, sang a song dedicated to scotch eggs – which left the judges bewildered. However, it wasn’t long before KSI hit the golden buzzer, leaving the rest of the judges to look on in shock. The rest of the judges spent their time laughing or staring in shock as Christy picked a scotch egg out of his sock.

Christy even offered KSI a scotch egg at the end, but he rejected it, telling the singer that he didn’t even like them. Amanda also gave Christy a yes, while Simon joined in on putting the singer through.

The Wakefield man already has a large following of 460,000 people on social media platform TikTok. Others took to social media to react to the performance, with @RyanSoapKing25 saying: “A song about a Scotch Egg. Where is the world coming too?”

@CoralMckeown added: “Love scotch egg man #BGT if you can get everyone joining in like he did, then that’s entertaining although I can’t eat them myself I can feel the heartburn just by looking at one ps does anyone know a ginger lad called Scot chegg ?”

Another fan, @JudithNaranjan, said: “Christy a.k.a. Scotch Egg reminds me of our reigning champion of 3 years Viggo Venn.”
