Susanna has been part of the GMB team since 2014.
She usually hosts the show Monday to Wednesday, and presents alongside Ed.
And she gets the usual holidays off, meaning that other stars including Kate, Ranvir Singh and Paul Brand host the show during that time instead.
Before joining ITV, Susanna presented BBC Breakfast alongside Bill Turnbull and Charlie Stayt.
Meanwhile Ed joined GMB in 2021 as a guest presenter.
He became a permanent host in 2022.
It comes after GMB fans were left seriously distracted by Kate on Friday as she revealed her ‘painful’ health battle just minutes into the ITV show.
The latest episode of the programme saw Kate, 58, and Ranvir Singh, 48, return to the studio to present the latest news and headlines.
As usual, Ranvir started the show by saying good morning to viewers, and Kate joked shortly afterwards: ‘Who said that?!’ which was then followed by some giggles.
Kate, who usually wears eye contacts and was rocking some new glasses, continued: ‘I can’t see a thing this morning Ranvir!’
‘You’re in pain, though, aren’t you, a little bit?’ Ranvir asked her.
And Kate explained: ‘I’ve got an eye infection, and you know, I wear contacts as you know, and I can’t wear my contacts, so I had to buy a pair of glasses, because my other glasses were broken, and I can’t really see a thing.’
Ranvir told Kate: ‘I’m so sorry about this. This morning, we’re here to support you, though. We’re here to support you…
‘And a bit of giggling, because I do like your Harry Potter look though. I do quite like the Harry Potter glasses.’
She continued: ‘We’ll crack on, we’ll get through it, won’t we? We’re here for four hours…’
Kate replied: ‘We’re here for four hours. Do you think I’ll catch up by the end?
‘Whatever you say, I’ll go along with.’
Ranvir then said: ‘Good look to Ed, who is on camera two this morning…’
Kate told viewers: ‘He’s had to come up so close, he’s virtually touching my nose.
‘Bring it in, Ed! Bring it in! I can’t see a thing!’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6:00am on ITV.
