A 17-year-old girl has died after emergency services were called to an incident on Monday.
Police confirmed the teenager’s death was not being treated as suspicious and family have been informed.
Emergency services were called to the area of Craig Nant Dulas in in Llanddulas, Conwy, just before 9.30am on April 13 and members of the public were urged to avoid the area. For the biggest stories in Wales first sign up to our daily newsletter here.
A spokesman from North Wales Police said on Monday afternoon: “Shortly before 9.30am today the teenager was found in the area of Craig Nant Dulas on Rhydyfoel Road.
“Emergency services, two air ambulances, and mountain rescue volunteers attended the scene where she was sadly pronounced deceased.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.”
Chief inspector Steve Pawson added: “My deepest thoughts and condolences are with her family who have been informed of the tragic incident.
“We kindly ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this difficult time.”
Rhydyfoel Road runs around a wooded hill topped by Lady Emily’s Tower, which is a viewing tower for the Gywrych Castle estate.
Two air ambulances landed at the scene alongside fire crews from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, officers from North Wales Police, and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service shortly before 10am.
The air ambulance operating from Caernarfon later landed at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital, Bangor, shortly after 11.30am.
