A man in his 50s has been charged to court after Class A drugs with an estimated street value of over £1.4 million were seized during a house search in Co Down today.
Officers from the PSNI‘s Organised Crime Branch, supported by the Tactical Support team, conducted a search of a house in the Mourne Drive area of Warrenpoint this morning, Thursday, April 16.
This large quantity of suspected cocaine was seized alongside a sum of cash and electronic items. A man, aged 53, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession to Class A controlled drugs with intent to supply and has since been charged to court.

He will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning, April 17, on a number of charges including possession of class A controlled drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug.
As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
A police spokesperson said: “This significant seizure is the result of ongoing investigations relating to the supply of controlled drugs in the Co Down area. We are actively committed to removing dangerous drugs from our streets while disrupting and arresting those involved in the drugs trade.
