Warwickshire Police last night (April 16) confirmed that it had launched a murder investigation into his death.
it came after a post mortem examination revealed that the man died as a ‘result of injuries consistent with an assault’.
In a statement, Detective Inspector Gareth Unett said: “I understand this will be concerning for the local community, but I’d like to reassure them we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to the man’s death.
“We’re carrying out a number of enquiries including checking CCTV and will have officers in and around the park providing reassurance. If you have questions, please speak to them.
“We’d ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area from late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning to come forward and share what they know.
“Finally, I’d ask people not to speculate online as this can cause unnecessary distress to the family and may impact our investigation.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
