Our city has been recognised as one of the best cities in the UK for foodies on a budget, and was even named the best city in the UK for foodies.

Recent research from Holafly has only confirmed our existing reputation, with the city officially being recognised as one of the best ‘foodie’ cities in the world. The research places an emphasis on which cities had the most diverse dining scenes, and while London didn’t place at the top, it did come in at a pretty respectable 4th place as one of the most diverse places to dine in the world.

At the top of the list was Melbourne, Australia. The ‘culinary capital of Australia’ was ranked as the world’s most diverse foodie city, with “79% of its restaurants serving international cuisines”.

London, in comparison, at 4th place, serves international cuisine at 74% of its restaurants. This allows travellers to “taste the world without stepping foot outside the city.”

London was also recognised for its impressive offering for some people who might struggle to eat out regularly. It’s the best city in the world for diners searching for gluten-free meals. The research found that London “leads globally for gluten-free options, with 21.6% of restaurants catering to gluten-free diners”.
