Fans of Britain’s Got Talent may be wondering when the live shows will begin. However there’s no need to fret as they will be appearing on our screens sooner than you think. The popular ITV programme is currently broadcasting its 19th series having first launched in 2007.
This year has seen Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, new judge KSI, and even a guest appearance from Stacey Solomon who stepped in for Simon when he was absent due to illness. The Sort Your Life Out presenter even had the opportunity to press the famed gold buzzer.
Having launched in February the auditions stage of Britain’s Got Talent 2026 wrapped up on Saturday, April 18. After the shows were filmed last year viewers have been treated to magicians, singers and even a choir of schoolboys from Cardiff.
It has now been confirmed the first semi-final will air live from the Apollo in London on Saturday, April 25, at 7pm on ITV1. This leaves just days until the competition becomes even more heated. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.

Much like last year the semi-finals will be broadcast on consecutive Saturday evenings before the grand final takes place on Saturday, May 30.
However the fourth semi-final will be moved to Sunday, May 17, due to the Eurovision Song Contest being held the previous evening.
As the first semi-final airs from 7pm until 9pm ITV’s Saturday night schedule is being reshuffled. The final episode of Celebrity Sabotage will air at the earlier time of 6pm rather than airing in its usual slot after BGT.
Additionally the Lee Mack quiz show The 1% Club will be absent on Saturday, April 25. Graham Norton’s new reality gameshow The Neighbourhood will take its place in the channel’s 9pm slot.

As well as the semi-finals no longer airing on consecutive weeknights, as they did for the majority of the show’s run, the judges can now judges use a gold buzzer to send an act directly through to the semi-final.
Nine acts were awarded golden buzzers this year while a typical semi-final would ordinarily feature eight or nine acts performing on the evening. This means nearly 50 acts take part across the semi-finals.
