Good Morning Britain came to a halt for a breaking announcement on Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex, 41, recently concluded his four-day trip to Australia, but has now arrived in Kyiv for a two-day visit.

Thursday’s (April 23) presenters Richard Madeley and Kate Karraway initially shared the update with ITV viewers, revealing Harry is “urging the world not to lose sight of what the country has been through”.

Ranvir Singh delivered further details, saying: “That breaking news from Kyiv. Prince Harry has arrived in the Ukrainian capital for a two-day visit. He will see some of the work of The Halo Trust, an organisation that specialises in clearing landmines of explosives from war-torn countries.”

The presenter reminded viewers that Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, was a keen supporter of the organisation, having worked with them in Angola in 1997.

Ranvir added: “The Duke of Sussex has told ITV News that he wants to remind the world what Ukraine is up against with its war with Russia.”

ITV News’ royal editor Chris Ship was in Kyiv, and is reportedly the only correspondent with access to Harry during his visit.

Chris said: “Prince Harry arrived here at Ukraine’s main railway station. He came in on an overnight train from Poland.”

He explained Harry’s visit was unnannounced, which is usually the way when it comes to visiting Kyiv, who has been at war with Russia for several years.

“Perhaps a reminder that at a time when the world’s attention has been on Iran and the conflict there, that the fight here is still going on…”

Back in the studio, Ranvir revealed they had lost access to Chris’s report, but said there would be further updates on Harry’s trip later on in the show.

It comes after Prince Harry visited Australia with his wife Meghan Markle, marking their first trip to the country since their royal tour in 2018.

During their visit, the couple visited The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and Bondi Beach to meet the survivors of the Bondi terror attack.

Despite this, the Sussexes have been slammed online for using their trip to Australia as a way to make more money to fund their Montecito lifestyle.
