The B6276 remains closed between Selset Reservoir and Brough following a collision

A road has remained closed for several hours as 999 crews respond to a “serious” collision between a motorcyclist and a car. Shortly before 2.30pm, emergency services were called to a collision on the B6276 near Selset Reservoir.

Police, paramedics, and the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) were called to the scene and the road remains closed between Selset Reservoir and Brough.

A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said, “We received a call to 999 at 14.22 this afternoon (25/4/26) to reports of a serious road traffic collision on the B6276 in Lunedale between a motorcyclist and a car. We sent a clinical team leader, air ambulance, emergency ambulance crew and a community paramedic.”

In an online statement, a spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Due to an ongoing incident, the B6276 is closed between Selset Reservoir & Brough. It will be closed for an number of hours. Please find an alternative route.”
