A British clothing brand has announced a partnership with the first black female jump jockey to champion new faces of the countryside.
The three-year sponsorship deal between Grace & Dotty, based in Whatton, with Aamilah Aswat, marks the start of a long-term collaboration that supports her pursuit of racing’s biggest stages.
It will provide the jump jockey with support across training, equipment, and public profile development, helping her to make history while inspiring future generations.

In February, Aamilah became the first black female British jump jockey to win a UK horse race at Kempton Park in Surrey. Her victory came less than three months after her first competitive race.
“Grace & Dotty has always stood for authenticity and adventure,” said Karen Ellis, owner of Grace & Dotty.
“We’re proud to back Aamilah not only because of her incredible talent and determination but because she represents a fresh and inclusive vision of rural Britain.
“Her journey shows that the countryside, and the sport of racing, are open to everyone.”
Having broken through numerous barriers to achieve her jockey license, Aamilah continues to train with her sights set firmly on entering top-tier races and riding competitively at the national level, with an ambition to ride in the Grand National.
“Horse racing is my dream, and becoming the first Black British woman to compete in jump racing is just the beginning,” said Aamilah.
“The support from Grace & Dotty means everything; it’s not just about sponsorship; it’s about visibility and belonging. We’re changing what the sport looks like.”
The partnership is part of the brand’s initiative to spotlight new faces of the countryside, a campaign aiming to redefine traditional perceptions of rural life and celebrate individuals.
“Grace & Dotty believes that horse racing is evolving,” added Karen.
“Backing Aamilah for the next three years is our way of investing in that future, encouraging equality, opportunity and representation in the spaces and sports we love.”
