BRITAIN-CRIME-POLICE-RELIGION

There are so many ways to be ashamed of being British right now it makes your head spin. Our once-feared Royal Navy reduced to a flotilla which wouldn’t look out of place on the park boating lake for example, a police force which largely seems to have given up fighting crime in favour of PR, and a Britain-harming Government which every day seems to find new ways to demean our nation. But perhaps the most shaming of the lot is the way this Government, and the idiot Left, has allowed – no, encouraged – antisemitism to fester in our midst to the point that murderous attacks on Jews are pretty much now an expected occurrence.

Yesterday two Jewish men in north London were stabbed by a 45-year-old Somali-born man. The finer details of which will only emerge in any subsequent court case, but, we are told he was known to the counter-extremism Prevent program. It brings the number of terror attacks on Britain’s Jewish community so far this year to six.

It is beyond shameful that the country of the Kindertransport, of Cable Street, the one country which had the sheer courage to stand up to fascists hellbent on wiping Jews from the face of the earth, now cowers in the face of rampant antisemitism on its streets and in its institutions.

It is mind-bending that we have reached a point where many Jews consider Britain too unsafe a country to live in.

We all know how we got here.

Like the hideous child rape gangs in the north, the cause is hiding in plain sight, but Britain is still suffering from what might be termed ‘Rotherham paralysis’.

And the unholy alliance of the Left and Islamism which takes to our streets almost weekly spouting racist bile, knows this and takes full advantage.

(I was tempted to use the phrase ‘extremist Left and extremist Islam’ there, but I’m not sure that would be accurate. Antisemitism has gone mainstream. It’s the racism it’s okay to like.)

I had an Egyptian-born reporter cover some of the pro-Palestine marches in London – he spoke Arabic and told me many of the songs sung in Arabic were viciously anti-semitic but of course our poor old police officers, with their less-than-perfect grasp of farsi or classical Persian, didn’t have a chance of detecting.

It is quite damning that the only thing which really unites the Islamo-left is hatred.

Madrassa-hardened Islamic men and prissy Home Counties Amelias who have read My First Socialism Primer are not typical bedfellows.

The burka does not square with feminism, in Gaza an LGBT man will serve 10 years behind bars simply for his sexual choice, whereas equality of race, religion and gender is baked into Israel’s 1948 Declaration of Independence. The placard ‘Queers for Palestine’ remains the Acme of this idiot leftist delusion.

Even given the current difficult-to-quite-fathom war, anyone who believes in equality should surely look to Israel as a shining beacon in a sea of mediaeval backwardness.

Unless you hate Jews of course.

Which, again and again, becomes an inescapable conclusion – remember the Labour Party is the only major party ever to be formally sanctioned for racism.

And guess which race they didn’t like.

Full marks if you plumped for the sons and daughters of Israel.

Yesterday the appropriate words were spouted.

“Hate has no place in British society” said Sarah Sackman, local Labour MP and Courts Minister

“We stand with the Jewish community,” said Mayor Sadiq Khan.

“Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain,” said Starmer.

Jewish News today brilliantly called this out with the withering headline: “Bull$#@# Bingo. Jews bleed. Cue the cliches”.

Indeed the only concrete common sense in the last 24-hours came from the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation, Jonathan Hall KC, who said: “It pains me to say this, but I think we may have reached a point where we need to have a moratorium on the sorts of marches that have been happening.

“It’s clearly impossible at the moment for any of these pro-Palestine marches not to incubate within them some sort of antisemitic or demonising language.”

Surely winning the Kings’ Counsel the ‘No S**t Sherlock’ medal of the month.
