The M60 motorway is closed in Tameside due to an ongoing incident tonight (Sunday, May 3).
The anti-clockwise carriageway is shut between Junction 24 (Denton Island) and Junction 23 (Ashton-under-Lyne).
Traffic cameras show motorists queueing as a result of the closure.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “M60 anticlockwise closed, queueing traffic due to accident from J24 M57 (Denton Island) to J23 A6140 Moss Way (Ashton Under Lyne).”
Emergency services are at the scene, according to eyewitnesses.
Delays are also reported elsewhere on the M60 due to a crash on the anticlockwise carriageway from J7 A56 Chester Road (Stretford, Stretford) to J5 A5103 Princess Road (Princess Parkway, Northenden). That incident is now on the hard shoulder.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester this evening, we have reports the A56 Chester Road Southbound is blocked and there is queueing traffic due to accident from A5067 to Warwick Road, Old Trafford.

The M.E.N understands the incident on the M60 near Ashton-under-Lyne was regarding a concern for welfare.
A person has been taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said:
All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M60 anticlockwise from J7 A56 Chester Road (Stretford, Stretford) to J5 A5103 Princess Road (Princess Parkway, Northenden).”

A spokesperson said:
