A man was slashed with a blade during a fight in the car park of a 16th Century coaching inn.

Police were called to The George Hotel in High Street St Martin’s, Stamford, at just before 10pm on Saturday (May 2) following reports of a group of people fighting in the car park of the hotel.

A man aged 25, and another aged 48, were both subsequently arrested on suspicion of grevious bodily home in connection with this incident.

A 62-year-old man was injured and treated for injuries that were not serious but “appear to have been caused from being slashed with a bladed weapon”.

The 25-year-old man has been bailed and the 48-year old man has been released with no further action.

Several people were spoken to at the time of the incident and other lines of inquiry explored, but investigating officers would still like to hear from anyone who hasn’t already been spoken them.
