A Kirkdale road was shut while police officers, fire crews and paramedics cleared the scene

An update has been issued after a three-car crash in Kirkdale. Merseyside Police was called to Westminster Road at 5.20pm on Saturday, May 2 after a crash between a Volkswagen Golf, a Hyundai and a Dacia.
Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service were all called to the incident. Westminster Road was closed for a short time while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for the force told the ECHO on Saturday that there were minor injuries following the incident. A man, who was the driver of the Dacia, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
In an update this morning (Tuesday, May 5) a spokesperson for the force said the man who was arrested is a 53-year-old from Kirkdale. He has been conditionally bailed.
