Three people have been arrested after a man was found dead at his home with “significant injuries” alongside a “stabbed” dog.
Police looking into the shocking death have arrested three people on suspicion of murder as investigations continue.
The body of a man was discovered in a home in Burntwood, near Lichfield this morning. Police rushed to the address at around 9am following reports of two men fighting but when cops got to the scene they found a man suffering with serious injuries.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance Service were also in attendance and worked to save the man.
However, despite the best efforts of medics, there was nothing that could be done to save the injured mand and it was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10am.

A dog was also found in the house with stab wounds and taken to a vet to be treated. A police cordon was in place at the address and a murder investigation was launched by Staffordshire Police.
Two men, aged 32 and 37 and a 33-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in Burntwood this morning (May 5).
“We were called to Hazel Grove shortly before 9am following reports of two men fighting.
“A man was found with significant injuries at the scene. Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead shortly after 10am.”

“A dog was also found inside the house with suspected stab wounds and has been taken to a vet for treatment.
“Officers have put a cordon in place at the home and have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
“Two men, aged 32 and 27, and a woman, aged 33, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.”
Cops asked for anyone with information to come forward.
