London’s local election results will start coming in from early Friday morning.

Here’s an hour-by-hour guide of when the results are expected.

10pm, Thursday, May 7

Polling stations shut across London as some boroughs start overnight counts.

3.30am, Friday, May 8 – Westminster

Westminster is set to be the first to declare.

All seats are up for election, with Labour defending a narrow majority won in 2022 after decades of Conservative control.

4am – Ealing, Sutton, Wandsworth

Ealing, Sutton, and Wandsworth are expected to declare.

Wandsworth, in particular, may see shifts with potential gains by smaller parties.

5am – Six boroughs including Bexley and Havering

Bexley, Hammersmith & Fulham, Havering, Kensington & Chelsea, Merton, and Richmond upon Thames are expected to declare.

Reform UK has set sights on Bexley and Havering, while the Liberal Democrats look to advance in Merton.

1pm – Hackney and Newham mayoral results

Hackney and Newham’s mayoral results are anticipated.

Both Labour-held, though the Greens are putting up a strong challenge in Hackney.

3pm – Islington, Waltham Forest and Lewisham mayor

Islington and Waltham Forest results are due, with Labour under pressure from smaller parties.

Lewisham’s mayoral result is also expected, with the Greens challenging Labour.

4pm – Greenwich and Croydon mayor

Greenwich, a Labour stronghold, is set to declare.

Croydon’s mayoral result, currently Conservative-held, is also due.

5pm – Barnet, Hackney, Redbridge

Barnet, Hackney, and Redbridge are expected to declare.

The Conservatives are hopeful of regaining Barnet, while the Greens eye Hackney.

Reform UK and independents aim for gains in Redbridge.

6pm – Tower Hamlets mayor

The Tower Hamlets mayoral result is expected.

Aspire’s Lutfur Rahman is seeking re-election.

Saturday, May 9 – Final counts

Counting continues in a few areas.

Final results for Croydon and Lewisham are expected by around 4pm.

Tower Hamlets is scheduled to complete its count at approximately 6pm.
