The puppets are taking over primetime! The cast of the outrageously funny, Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q is set to bring its furry mischief to the nation tomorrow, Saturday 9 May 2026, with a special performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Fans can tune in to ITV1 and ITVX from 7pm to see the residents of Avenue Q showcase exactly why this show remains a phenomenon 20 years after its debut.
The TV appearance comes as the production celebrates its 20th anniversary with a strictly limited return to London’s Shaftesbury Theatre, where it is booking to 29 August 2026.

Meet the cast of Avenue Q
The cast performing on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday will include Avenue Q’s company, led by Mamma Mia!’s Meg Hateley, Bat Out of Hell’s Emily Benjamin, The Choir of Man‘s Oliver Jacobson, and Pretty Woman The Musical’s Noah Harrison.
The cast of also features Charlie McCullagh (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Nicky, Trekkie Monster and Bad Idea Bear; Amelia Kinu Muus (SIX The Musical) as Christmas Eve; and Dionne Ward-Anderson (The Book of Mormon) as Gary Coleman.
The company is completed by Jasmine Beel, Jonathan Carlton, Angelis Hunt, Lesley Lemon, Jessica Niles Kadi and Joshua Williams-Ward.
Avenue Q remains one of theatre’s funniest and most original musicals, and features songs including It Sucks to Be Me, Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist, and The Internet is for Porn!
Avenue Q is directed by the show’s original Broadway director Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect, Shrek the Musical), and features Rick Lyon’s original Broadway puppet designs.
The show boasts music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty.
