Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left alarmed over the welfare of one of the show’s judges after a health scare unfolded on screen.

The much-loved ITV programme returned on Saturday night (May 10) for its third live semi-final, with a diverse array of acts taking to the stage in a bid to claim the coveted top prize.

Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI — who stepped in to replace Bruno Tonioli — were all back at the panel to cast their verdict on the remaining contestants.

At one point during the broadcast, the show resumed from a commercial break with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnell addressing the camera while the judges awaited the next act.

It was then that YouTuber KSI appeared to struggle for breath after taking a sip of water at the judges’ desk, prompting a wave of concern from worried viewers at home, reports the Daily Star.

“Is KSI okay there? Someone should check on him. He was choking,” wrote one user on X. Another added: “@KSI are you ok? Was you choking on your water.” A third chimed in: “Did anyone notice KSI was choking and no one was paying attention?” A fourth said: “Legit no one even helped him.”

KSI — real name Olajide Olayinka Williams ‘JJ’ Olatunji — appeared to recover swiftly, continuing with the show without further incident.

KSI formally joined the judging panel this year, having previously made guest appearances in 2025, taking over from Bruno Tonioli, who stepped down owing to diary clashes.

It’s safe to say his stint has gone down a treat with fans so far. Earlier this year, fellow judge Amanda Holden shared her thoughts about the musician.

When questioned about what the YouTube star contributes to the team, Amanda remarked: “He is super cool, really personable. To be honest with you, I feel like I’ve known him for ages.

“I feel quite protective over him, I don’t know why, a tiny bit mother-y. I think what he brings is that he cuts to the chase, so there’s no waffling. He sort of says exactly what he thinks, which is quick and succinct.”

Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
