A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a pedestrian died following a collision on the A1.
Multiple calls were received by Lincolnshire Police’s Force Control Room with reports of a collision between a pedestrian and at least one vehicle, a grey Seat Leon, at 9.35pm on Saturday, May 9.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, which was north of the junction for South Witham and Castle Bytham.
“Despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics a 52-year-old woman died at the scene,” a police statement said.
“A large dog also died.
“We have informed the woman’s family who will be supported by specially trained officers.”
Officers understand the woman, a man and their dog had left their Vauxhall Corsa parked in a layby north of the Fox Inn on the southbound lane of the A1 and had walked over to the northbound lane.
“It is part of our investigation to determine when or for how long they had been on the northbound side,” the statement added.
“The A1 at South Witham has two lanes both north and southbound.
“Within the locality of the collision are various businesses including Trophy’s Cars, an OK Diner and a Travel Lodge.
“There is a truck stop in the southbound lane around the Fox Inn location.”

”We are appealing for anyone who was travelling either southbound or northbound at South Witham to recall if they may have seen anything relevant to the lead up to the collision or the collision itself,” the statement added.
“We are asking for our appeal to be shared widely to reach as many people as possible who may have travelled and have information that will help. This is alongside our own inquiries to trace relevant vehicles.
“We are appealing for anyone who saw a broken down black Vauxhall Corsa in a layby in the southbound lane near to the Fox Inn and/or any pedestrians and a dog between 3.40pm and 9.35pm on the A1 at South Witham.
“We also ask for anyone who travelled either southbound or northbound during those times to check any dashcam footage that could help with our investigation.”
Two men have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
A 24-year-old man who has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and a 58-year-old man who has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
They remain in custody at this time.
“This is an ongoing active investigation and we ask people not to speculate as to the circumstances; this is unhelpful to all involved, especially family and friends of the victim,” the police statement said.
