Good Morning Britain audiences were swift to voice their frustration with the ITV programme.

Hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were accompanied by Kevin Maguire and Gillian Keegan to examine the day’s top stories, including Keir Starmer’s forthcoming address to the nation.

Yet, while discussing pupils at Connaught School for Girls in London mounting a counter-demonstration against their striking teachers, tempers flared amongst the panel.

Susanna outlined the circumstances, as pupils are demanding striking staff return to lessons ahead of their approaching GCSEs.

Gillian responded: “It’s outrageous, actually, that teachers are going on strike just before their GCSEs, I mean, it’s really, it’s outrageous, but well done those girls,” reports the Mirror.

Susanna continued: “How destabilising is that?” Meanwhile, Kevin revealed that while he admired their ‘pluckiness’, he also explained to audiences the reasoning behind the industrial action.

He stated: “The teachers are on strike over job losses, fewer teachers and also, what they say, are intolerable workloads.”

Ed cut across Kevin, noting that the strike period would extend from April 21 through to June 8, encompassing the examination season.

Kevin continued: “Don’t protest against them, because they’re trying to put pressure on the employers, the kids should be putting pressure on the academy or the local authority or whatever it is.”

It became apparent that Susanna, Ed and Gillian all took issue with Kevin’s stance as they simultaneously began voicing their opinions forcefully on the matter. Yet, as they all spoke simultaneously at considerable volume, their remarks became impossible to decipher.

While they carried on talking over each other, the Good Morning Britain signature music began playing in the background, swiftly bringing the discussion to a close.

Susanna informed audiences: “Let us know what you think about that, about the cost of living and about the future of the Prime Minister.”

It didn’t take long before audiences flocked to social media to express their views on the panel, with numerous people unimpressed by the shouting match.

One viewer remarked: “Just a dreadful shouting match. This s***e is unwatchable.” While another posted: “I can’t hear a thing with them all shouting over each other. Is there no one at @gmb that can tell them one at a time?”

Another person commented: “#gmb Turned off can’t stand the shouting/ talking over each other and no Laura today either shall try the BBC.” With a further viewer stating: “Do they really think that we enjoy listening to them shouting and talking over each other?”

One audience member exclaimed: “Can’t hear a word they are saying, just shouting at each other FFS!” While someone else remarked: “Stop f***ing shouting.”

Good Morning Britain is on ITV1 weekdays at 6am
