There are delays on the M25 following a multi-vehicle crash that shut three lanes.

Traffic information site Inrix reported that two cars and a lorry were involved.

At around 7.40am, a National Highways spokesperson said on X: “Three lanes (of four) are closed on the M25 anti-clockwise at J3 and J2 near Swanley following a multi-vehicle collision.

“Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service are on scene.

“There are delays of 30 minutes and three miles of congestion for those heading towards the Dartford Crossing.”

In an update at 11.40am all lanes were confirmed open with recovery completed.

National Highways says residual delays of 10 minutes above expected journey times remain.

A police spokesman said this morning: “We are attending a report of a collision involving four vehicles on the northbound carriageway of the M25 just before junction 3.

“Officers were called to the scene at 7.03am today, along with other emergency services. A man has reported injuries.

“Work is ongoing to clear the vehicles from the road.”
