Lettice Rowbotham became a household name after finishing eighth on BGT in 2014, and has since found happiness away from the spotlight with her fiancé and their childrenBGT: Violinist Lettice Rowbotham impresses the judges in 2014

Britain’s Got Talent star Lettice Rowbotham lives a life that’s a world away from her days finding fame 12 years ago. She wowed audiences playing the violin on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, with the series eventually won by Collabro.

Lettice’s appearance on the programme included a notable moment with judge David Walliams, who remarked: “I think you might be the poshest contestant we’ve ever had on the show.” Unfazed, Lettice responded: “I’ve never really considered myself posh, it’s mainly about talent.”

Her performances throughout the series featured Good Feeling by Flo Rida, Demons by Imagine Dragons and Counting Stars by One Republic. During the final, she delivered a stirring version of Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, even showcasing her vocals, ultimately finishing in eighth position. At the time, she was rumoured to be in a relationship with X Factor star Matt Cardle.

Fast forward a decade, and Lettice looked ecstatic when she celebrated her engagement to partner, Charlie Stoop, during an intimate moment at a restaurant where Lettice was performing in Barbados back in 2024.

Lettice was photographed in a tender moment with her fiancé, showing off a stunning engagement ring created by celebrity jeweller ChloBo, boasting two white pear-shaped diamonds surrounding a blue topaz stone, ingeniously shaped to resemble a violin. The newly-engaged pair hosted a celebration for close friends and family at a beautiful plantation-style villa, joined by their two children, Peaches and Ptolemy.

A month later, she posted a picture on Instagram for her followers showing the happy couple with their kids on a beach in an exotic location wearing coordinating swimming costumes, saying: “Happy Valentines to my FIANCÉ! Stoopy Legend! Best Daddy to our babies & the LOVE of my whole entire existence. We ADOREEE YOU.”

Before captivating viewers on the talent competition, Lettice had already performed her violin for prominent figures including Vladimir Putin – at his youngest daughter’s secret wedding – and King Charles. Coming from an exceptionally creative family, her mother Sherree Valentine Daines is a renowned portrait artist whose pieces have been acquired by the Royal Family and displayed at distinguished locations such as the Tate and the Barbican, commanding prices reaching £10,000.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Lettice studied at the prestigious Purcell School of Music, with annual fees of £30,000, and has subsequently devoted herself entirely to music, despite receiving offers to appear on E4’s Made In Chelsea.

Lettice has amassed nearly 36,000 Instagram followers, regularly sharing updates of her violin performances in stunning places.

In another post, in April 2020, Lettice and Charlie appeared in a woodland photograph, with the violinist just weeks away from welcoming her baby. She said: “Just a few weeks until our baby is born! P.S; hypnobirthing has been amazing! It’s really helped me become more positive and have a happier mindset about the birth despite all the unusual things going on in the world right now! Feeling so lucky to have the NHS and all my family and friends and especially my boyfriend supporting me.”
