Two bodies have been found in separate coastal locations in Northern Ireland on Sunday.
The discoveries were made at popular tourist sites, one in Co Down and the other in Co Antrim.
On Sunday morning, a body was found on Whiterocks Beach on the north coast.
Following the discovery, the deputy mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council appealed for privacy for the family.
In a social media post, Alliance councillor Richard Brown Stewart said: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the discovery of a body at White Rocks this morning.
“My thoughts are with the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased at what will be an incredibly difficult and distressing time.
“I also want to pay tribute to the emergency services, and everyone involved in responding to the incident with professionalism, dignity and care.
“I would ask people to respect the family’s privacy as investigations continue.”
A body was also found in Rostrevor, Co Down.
PSNI officers responded to a report of a body in the water in Kilbroney Park on the Shore Road at around 8.45am on Sunday.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A post-mortem examination will take place in due course,” but added, “the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
MLA for South Down Diane Forsythe described it as incredibly sad news.
Posting to social media, the DUP representative said: “Incredibly sad news from Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor this morning.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family friends of this man as well as with those who discovered him and the emergency services who attended.
“Please be patient and sensitive with those attending the area today.”
