Tucked away near Canada Water, the underrated Stave Hill Ecological Park offers sweeping 360-degree views stretching from The Shard to St Paul’s Cathedral.

Stave Hill Ecological Park is a valuable green sanctuary for local residents with its blend of nature conservation, education, and leisure. Under the management of The Conservation Volunteer’s (TCV) Urban Ecology team, the park includes a remarkable range of habitats – from grassland and woodland to scrub and wetland – all cultivated from the ground up on what was once derelict dockland.
Beyond supporting an impressive diversity of wildlife, the park also welcomes volunteers of all abilities, inviting them to contribute to its upkeep and activities every second Saturday of each month. The regular volunteer sessions not only help maintain the park’s pristine condition, but also provide valuable learning opportunities for visitors to better understand the ecology of the area.
