Derbyshire police say that a man in his twenties has been taken to hospital after being found with a serious head injury in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 7).

The force is appealing for help from the public and has put out the following statement: “We’re appealing for information after a man was found seriously injured in a Derby road in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, June 7).

“A report came in just before .:30am today about a man, in his twenties, being found injured in the road in Stafford Street.

“The man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and remains there receiving treatment. His family have been made aware and are being supported by officers.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was nearby at the time who may have information about how the man came to be injured.”

Anyone with private CCTV installed in the area, or who was driving with dash cam around the time, is asked to check their footage and contact the police, should it contain anything which may be useful to officers.
