A town bank is one of dozens set to close as its parent group decreases its presence on UK high streets.
Halifax on Lynn’s High Street will be shutting its doors on October 22 as part of plans by Lloyds Banking Group, which also includes Lloyds and the Royal Bank of Scotland, to close 79 of its branches.
A total of 48 Halifax and 31 Lloyds branches will shut – with Lynn’s Lloyds bank not impacted by the announcement.

The closure will leave an empty unit at the end of Lynn’s High Street closest to the Tuesday Market Place, in between McDonald’s and Monsoon/Acessorize.
Halifax says its customers can use Lloyds Bank for any in-branch services.
The closures are due to the increase in people banking online and using apps to manage their money, a Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said.
“With access to one of the biggest branch networks in the UK, customers can now use any of our Lloyds or Halifax branches, including the nearby Lloyds branch,” they said.
“Alongside other local banking options like our Community Bankers, the nearby Post Office, PayPoint, plus our leading apps and 24/7 messaging service, we offer our customers more choice and convenience than ever before.”
