A MAN has died after falling from a 15-storey tower block with residents saying they heard ?a big scream?. Cops scrambled to Grampian Tower in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, just after 6am on Friday morning after being called to a ?disturbance?. Essex Police said another call then ?reported significant concern for a man outside the block?. They arrived alongside emergency services where the man was found and had sadly died. Locals told the BBC that they had heard a ?big scream and a crash of glass? at around 5.45am. Daryl Hall, 36, also told the outlet: ?What I heard was a big bang followed by loads of screaming and shouting.

A man has died after he fell from a 15-storey tower block after residents heard ‘a big scream’.

Police were called to Grampian Tower in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, at 6am on Friday morning.

They received a call which ‘reported significant concern for a man outside the block’.

Officers found the man just outside the building where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Daryl Hall, 36, told the BBC: ‘What I heard was a big bang followed by loads of screaming and shouting. Then, probably 10 minutes later, sirens.’

Steve Watkins, 48, said he heard a ‘big scream and a crash of glass’.

It is not known what floor the man fell from.

Essex Police said: ‘His death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation.

‘Anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

‘We’re particularly interested in footage from in and around Grampian flats between 12am and 7am this morning.’
