Temperatures look set to climb over the next week – which is some good news after a washout weekend in Glasgow.

Scotland may be known for its weather ups and downs, but this summer has been a rollercoaster so far. The weekend has brought wind and rain, and plenty of it, to Glasgow – but the forecast does look set to change soon.
A huge band of rain sweeping the whole of Scotland means that Sunday’s (July 5) forecast is a little bit bleak. The Met Office reads: “Another cloudy and dull day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle throughout, which may be heavy and persistent at times. Breezy. Maximum temperature 17°C.”
But as of next week, things look a little brighter – in fact, we’re on our way back to days above 20 degrees and the sun peeking through. From Wednesday (July 8) condition improve – the forecast reads: “Drier with brighter spells.” And although the rain may linger on a few days, the forecast further ahead is promising.

Maximum temperatures are 22C on Wednesday, 23C on Thursday and 23C on Friday – which is far as the Met Office prediction goes.
However, a quick look at Apple’s weather service, which runs until Monday, July 13, suggests 25C forecasts on the horizon, with temperatures climbing steadily between now and then.

It may seem like a while away, but we’ll take it, and hope that next weekend is a bit brighter than this one!
